About Me

Through various jobs and personal experiences, frequently including the responsibility for the safety and welfare of others, I have developed a skill set specifically tailored to travel and hospitality. My travels to more than 30 countries on four continents have given me a knowledge and appreciation of a multitude of peoples and cultures.

Raised in Alaska until the age of ten, the rest of my youth was spent living and sailing full-time with my parents on a 50-foot sailboat throughout the Caribbean. During a four month road-trip through South America, we visited every country on the continent.  In doing so, we completed a journey from the westernmost end of the US continental road system in Homer, Alaska to the southernmost end of the western hemisphere in Ushuaia, Argentina, all by land and sea.

As an adult I have sought work experience related to traveling, from teaching English to children and adults in Spain to running cross-country road-trips in my home country. I have also spent a part of my travels dedicated to volunteering, both as a teen with my parents in Venezuela and later on my own with a medical volunteer group in two separate visits to Africa, including one to Kenya designed to broker peace between two warring tribes.

From managing a resort front office in Yellowstone National Park to assisting in the delivery room of a rural Kenyan clinic, my jobs, volunteer and life experiences have uniquely prepared me to be highly organized, resourceful and adept. Adventure travel is my calling and I believe my skills and experiences demonstrate my adaptability, hardworking nature and passion for service.
