My skills

I believe I am an outgoing person highly skilled in the Hospitality industry in high-volume establishments. I maintain a positive rapport with customers whilst maintaining productivity, who works to keep bar areas organised, stocked and clean. Works well as a team member in high-pressure beleive I am Friendly, charismatic person with a wide range of experience. Regularly performed till work, inventory and Bar/Restaurant opening/closing duties. I have worked in a wide range of estabishments and different levels from running a pub to being a Head short order chef.
I enjoy outdoor activities and travelling including cycling, hiking and camping. I am currently learning the acoustic guitar and harmonica. Enjoy arts and crafts, and reading and films.
Following university I decided to walk the Camino de Santiago a hike in northern Spain and have lived and volunteered (hoss, farms) in Spain and Portugal up until December have spent my free time learning Spanish, cycling, walking, playing(learning)guitar, painting and enjoying the Spanish way of life.

After completing the Camino de Santiago in 2013 I have stayed in Spain ever Since (learning Spanish). Although most of my background is within the hospitality industry with various roles and positions. I have always had a keen interest with the outside way of life, and whilst mainly working in there Hospitality industry as above mentioned, I also undertook gardening jobs, Fencing work and Landscape maintenance and design. So in 2010 I started a BSC in Horticulture at Writtle College, Essex a subsidiary of the university of Essex. With the studies I gained valuable knowledge and understanding of Plants and recognize different plants, know how they grow and to appreciate the growing conditions and maintenance, and there environment. Science related to the growth, propagation (including hardy nursery stock, annual and perennial ornamentals, vegetable and fruit crops), and soil sciences. Landscape design and techniques (dealing also with risk assessments/Health and Safety at work and public liability)researching influences on management strategies including economic pressures such as funding and staffing, visitors, access, management philosophy and approaches, influencing factors, policies and the authorities involved. Tree management, understanding how they live, grow and function is essential in determining appropriate management regimes learning also their anatomy and physiology throughout all stages of growth and development. In addition, it relates how the individual specimens interact with the wider environment, and the way that their surroundings affect growth, development as well as their short and long term survival prospects. With this skills I have above mentioned I also gained valuable knowledge within the hospitality industry as below illustrates. My last Duties as a Restaurant and Bar Manager included. * Maintain relationships with customers and staff. * Identify & estimate quantities of food, beverages and supplies to be ordered. * Schedule staff work hours and duties. * Evaluate and maintain health and safety practices, according to standards. * Maintain a high quality of food, preparation and staff applicants. * Monitor food prep and cleaning practices. * Implement ideas or products. * Inspect equipment and food deliveries. * Monitor & oversee purchases, menus, staff and payroll. * Guide and train staff. * Communicate with customers, sales reps & suppliers. * Maintain records of stock usage. I am computer literate including Microsoft Office and most POS systems. I have over 20 Years within the hospitality industry in various roles.
