About Me

My name is Yulia. I am highly motivated 25-year old volunteer from Russia. I grew up in Moscow, but I spent every summer in a rural area of Siberia, where my parents are from and enjoyed living a simple life close to the nature. I am currently teaching English to children and volunteer in boarding schools with disabled kids. I want to volunteer in international and creative environment. I am self-initiative, open-minded and eager to new experience and new challenges, which make me grow. I am keen on other cultures and traditions, so I study foreign languages and visit intercultural events. I speak both English and Spanish.
What is about my hobbies, I like spending my free time outside and doing sports, such as jogging, cycling, snowboarding, surfing, skateboarding, swinging poi, dancing and yoga. I also enjoy cooking both Russian and other cultures’ cuisine. I also enjoy painting, photography, knitting and making other kinds of handicrafts. I can make scarfs, pillows and other small and useful objects. The other thing is that during my studies at the university my friends and I established a Spanish language club. We held language classes and cultural events, such as culinary and dancing classes. We also provided our foreign visitors with Russian cultural programme. I also took part in fund-raising events for boarding schools (food festivals), where I cooked and sold food. I was a member of entertainment team at sports games. We organized different challenging tasks and traditional Russian games for visitors and participants.
I am very excited about volunteering abroad, meet new friends and get new experience. I love learning, enjoy the nature and belive in good side of everything. I have a strong interest to develop cross-cultural communication and be a part of a new community.
