Travel Blogger / Host Support Role

This is a dream job for the right person wanting to break into travel blogging, the world of startups and who wants to work and travel full time. The salary is $300 a month plus accommodation at our coworking coliving house in the UK. This is a full-time position. Please do not apply if you are looking to charge hourly rates remotely. This position is about being part of the Working Traveller team and being in the office every day with the rest of the team to make it all happen.

Working Traveller is looking for someone with the following skills.

• An understanding of consumer marketing and brand building.
• Your written English needs no proofreading.
• Your writing style needs to appeal to 18 – 30-year-old travellers 50% native English speaMore...kers and 50% not. You need to be able to write about real stories and come from an authority point of view.
• A passion for work and travel. That's how to find work as you travel, not just travelling.
• Motivation is key. You need to work unsupervised and spot the marketing opportunities open to Working Traveller and not wait to have them shown to you.

The role is split into 4 main areas 

Host Support -  Helping hosts book up work placements and then leave references for travellers. This means making sure new hosts complete their profiles and understand how to use the site.

Work Placement Marketing – We get in around 1 new work post a day. You need to be creative here and push out the work post link to relevant Facebook groups.

Travel Blogging – Travellers have many questions around the work and travel subject. What visas do you need to work in X? What skills pay the most and are in most demand? Is it possible to find work in X in Y in winter? You need to be able to write 2000 word blogs that answer them.

 Instagram – We need to be posting 2 times a day. Work placements – advertise all the new work coming in. Interesting locations and the types of work you can find there Stories by skill “ How to find work as a yoga instructor”. Wow, Instagram pics/locations. 

The following roles are needed but not day today.

Travel Help Videos – We need to write and then video maybe 20 short scripts for the Traveller help pages. I will be doing the host videos but I want the “Traveller Champion” to be the face of the traveller help videos.  

Monthly Travel newsletter – You need to create an email to go out to WT travellers every month to get them to use the site more. Pointing out 'life hacks' and advise on how to get more work booked up in the skill areas they are interested in is the main focus.

Work Placements – Ideally you will do a real work placement at least once every six months and video/photograph your experience so we can create a video for a blog post on the site.
