Volunteers Required for NGO in Nepal

Our Running Programs: 1. English Teaching - Teaching at Schools and Libraries depending on your specific area of expertise like English, math, science, music, dance, sport etc. 2. Home-Stay and Cultural Exchange - Among our 50 host families in rural as well as urban setting in different part of Nepal. 3. Environmental Awareness - Teaching environmental awareness at the local school and Environmental Post for 2 to 4 hours each day and involve in on going project like creating "green" clubs, planting a flower garden, planting trees, garbage management, recycling programs, making a smokeless stove, building a toilet pit etc. 4. Women Empowerment - Teaching women groups about women health, women right and collaborate in ongoing projects, income generating training and helping small business. 5. Teaching at Monastery - Teach English in monastery and learn Nepalese Buddhism. You can also involve in daily puja (Praying), meditation and other Buddhist cultural tasks. 6. Health Post VoluMore...nteer - Working in community health post and health clinic, Assisting to doctor, nurse and health assistance depending on volunteers skill and area of expertise. 7. Work With Orphans - Teaching and helping to orphan children. 8. Organic Farm and permaculture - helping to farmers and local communities to cultivate and harvest organic crops, vegetables, fruits, herbs through sustainable farming methods Volunteers are welcome to design their own program in various area. You are most welcome to work in any field and we will support you to arrange the all necessary things. Training: Upon Volunteers arrival in Kathmandu, they are provided 2-3 days orientation and training which help you to understand our organization, various programs, opportunities, country, basic Nepali language, culture, safety measures, dos and don'ts, etc. Placement: So far as placement is concerned stay in a Nepali family. Usually volunteer placements are at easy distance away from the host family. volunteers should work 4-5 hours everyday. Generally the program starts at 10am and is over at 2pm. More often than not, school and health post runs 6 days a week and Saturday is day off. Our placement areas: Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Gorkha, Nuwakot, Annapurna Area, Dhaading Food and Accommodation: Volunteers are placed with Nepali host family. The host family provide a separate room with a simple bed. You are offered two meals delicious Nepali food Dhal/Bhat (rice, lentil soup, bread and vegetables curry)and two tea.In some placement volunteers can enjoy in cooking. Hide
