Animal Care:
Volunteer work at animal shelters in New Orleans for 5 year.
Work on a Dairy Farm in Ireland last year. They job was feeding and herding cattle.
Gardening:
Past Volunteer work in that field. Mostly wedding, watering, sowing, plaiting, sheering etc.
Cooking:
I worked as a cook for 3 years. Mostly preparing basic American food. Meat,Vegetables, rice etc.
Grilling and frying and baking
Also I nearly finished my pastry chef training. I can bake bread , cakes, pies if needed
Cleaning:
Just cleaning at past volunteer experiences and after myself.
Childcare:
I have looked after my cousins and minded kids at past volunteer jobs. I am not certified in childcare.
Basic maintenance work:
Painting, basic use of tools, pulling up tile and carpets
English:
I have done an immersion program in Poland called "Angloville.". I wish to be certified and teach in The Ukraine at some point.
About Me
am an American by birth but feel more like a citizen of the world.
My wish is to volunteer on a farm and learn as much as possible while gaining am very interesting in learning how to work the land and grow food. I also love animals. All animals!
I no longer want the hassle of conventional city life. I am letting my apartment lease go, selling and donating all of my belongings and leaving my job as a cook to travel the world and volunteer.
My philosophy is that life should be about helping others and not about how much money you can make. If you focus on the 2nd then you will never be truly happy.
I am expecting it to be hard work and welcome it with open arms.
I don't so much view it as a holiday but work, a chance to gain some wisdom/experience and to meet new people. I find living as if i am part of a community much more rewarding than a fun holiday. I enjoy hard work and I will be excited to do it.
A bit more about myself is that I have worked as a professional cook for five years. I really enjoy baking artisan breads. . I tend to get along with most everybody. I enjoy being outdoors and animals.
My hobbies are music,travel, Nature, nutrition and hiking.

Amanda is a great hard worker. She loves to get her hands dirty and when asked to do some painting she said she had never done it before, yet did the whole job perfectly and cleaned everything up without being managed at all. Nice company and easy going person. Highly recommend her to anyone who need an all rounder.
