Planned and coordinated student conferences that the topics that most directly impact kids, schools and families. Using the knowledge of how 12, 13 and 14 year olds feel about growing up digital, workshops were developed to help them learn, appreciate and understand limits.
Organized for three years in a row, middle school and high school annual trip to SUNY New Paltz were students visited the college campus to live the day in the life of a college student. The trip targets at-risk middle school youth with the hope that these students will see the light and strive to graduate from high school and go to college. Over 300 students were impacted annually by this initiative.
Arrange a high school international trip to Costa Rica to allow students the opportunity to developed a stronger understanding of the world around them, deepened their cultural appreciation, and widened their knowledge of viewpoints other than their own.
Applied for a Google Earth Pro grant and received 30 licenses for a total of $10,500 in funding to use the technology in the classrooms. Google Earth Pro allows for quick computation of distances and areas using line, path, polygon and circle measurement tools.
I was in charge with directing summer school and training Teach for America new teachers and was responsible for 20 faculty.
