WINTER

Routt County is home to the Steamboat Springs Ski Resort. It generally opens the Wednesday before Thanksgiving in November and closes approximately the second week in April. This resort is different from others in Colorado- it is located in a more remote location with a large ranching and agricultural history. This is part of the charm- if you are looking for celebrities, clubs, and a party-like atmosphere then this is not the ski mountain for you.
The skiing on the mountain is wonderful for all levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. The resort is famous for their Champagne Powder which is very dry and fluffy.
Steamboat Ski Resort hires many people for seasonal jobs including ski/snowboard instructors, lift operators, ticket sales, bartenders, waiters, and many more positions. Some employees are able to obtain employee housing and are provided a ski pass.

ATTITUDE TO FOREIGNERS WORKING IN ROUTT

The attitude toward foreigners is positive. Coloradoans are generally friendly people and Routt County is no exception. It's residents are warm and eager to help.
