Work and Travel in Lafourche

WORK IN LAFOURCHE ALL YEAR ROUND

Oilfield work including rigging, field machinery operation, crane opperation, inshore/offshore deckhand (all with appropriate certification) is about the only year round work available in Lafourche parish. Though in the past year the oilfield seems to be slightly plummeting, yet always fluxuation, and still the main provider of employment in the area.

ATTITUDE TO FOREIGNERS WORKING IN LAFOURCHE

A certified individual of any race has as equal of a chance as the locals at aquiring a job in port yards throughout Lafourche parish. Also all ports to the south under an hours ride in places such as Fourcheon and Grand Isle run transportation for employees from areas even further north than my home of Lafourche parish, and sometimes from the neighbouring states as well if working certain extended shifts.
