WINTER

Winters are dreary in Portland and that is about all there is to it. It doesn't really snow, it just rains. Days can be heartbreakingly short and depressingly wet. But for Portlanders, thats a great excuse to sit inside and read a book or haunt the local watering hole. Oh and only tourists and noobs use umbrellas.

ATTITUDE TO FOREIGNERS WORKING IN MULTNOMAH

Portland is an extremely accepting place for travelers and there is plenty to do. However, a lot of locals look down on people who are trying to move to Portland because "it is the next San Francisco" or just because it is hip. Housing prices are rising and living in Portland isn't as cheap or gritty as it used to be and a lot of the locals are upset that it is becoming such a hipster haven. Most people living in Portland are not from here, so we were all new once.
