Additional Information

In 2014 I went to Malawi alongside other school pupils from north Lanarkshire. In order to go to Malawi, we had to raise £2000 each minimum. Through hard work, dedication and planning I managed to raise nearly £23,000 with my friends to go towards projects in Malawi. Along with this we managed to get the Provosts support in our charity work and he donated a further £20,000 to the cause. This meant we could go on the trip and make a significant difference to the Malawian people. This trip taught me many things - in particular not to take the simple things in life for granted. It also taught me how it is important to be polite to everyone and show respect, in addition to this the Malawian children taught me the importance of simply smiling at people: it can make someone’s day.
